What is the Rental Assistance reimbursement option?

Understanding the Rental Assistance option when submitting a default reimbursement request

Sometimes life happens, unforeseen expenses come up, and people get behind on their rent – we get it. If a OneApp covered resident needs a little extra help getting back on their feet, we offer a 'Rental Assistance' option you can select when submitting a default reimbursement.

Here's everything you need to know.

How does rental assistance work?

If a OneApp resident defaults on their lease, you have the option to request rental assistance on their behalf and we can cover 75% of the resident's rent for 2-months

What are the requirements for rental assistance?

A resident is eligible for rental assistance when both of the following are true:
  • The OneApp fee is paid. If the resident paid in full, this requirement is met. If the resident is on a payment plan, they must have made the initial payment plus at least two of the five monthly installments.
  • The resident is at least two full months behind on rent.

⚠️ Please Note: You cannot submit additional default reimbursement requests for residents if rental assistance is provided.

How do I submit a request for rental assistance?

Follow the steps in this Property Hub article and select 'Rental Assistance' as the reason for your default reimbursement request.
